The Art Gallery of Fells Point announces our

34th Annual North American Miniature Art Exhibition,

October 5th – November 5th, 2017

Best in Show Award (Judge’s Choice): $250

This show is open to all residents of North America 18 years or older.  All fine art media is accepted.  No photography, copier reproduction or computer generated image is eligible.  All artwork must be original and the work of the submitting artist.

As a general guideline, all work should embody the spirit of a miniature; a traditional miniature is 1/6th life size.  The frame or mounting should be in the same spirit.  2-D work image size should be no larger than 4″x6″ (or 24″ square).  Frame size should be no larger the 6″x8″ (or 48″ square).   3-D work is limited to 8″ in any direction, including base or pedestal.

Wood or metal frames only.  NO plastic or metal sectionals.  Proper framing with wire and screw eyes required.  Exception: one-piece molded fine art miniature frames with  metal hanging rings acceptable.  No Saw-tooth hangers, please.  A small square of Velcro “rough hook” should be affixed to the back, centered on the bottom frame strip.

Fees: (Non-refundable) up to 3 entries

Gallery members: $35.00, Non-Members: $40.00 if delivered a picked up by the artist.  Shipped work: $50 ($US) which includes return postage for up to 2 lbs and insurance up to $200.  Additional insurance is the responsibility of the artist.  Checks should be made out to The Art Gallery of Fells Point and included with entries.  Entries not meeting any of the above conditions will be rejected.  The AGFP retains the right to determine the suitability of work submitted for exhibition.  Submission of an entry implies that the work is original and does not infringe upon any copyright, permission is given to AGFP to reproduce works for publicity, consignment of the artwork for the duration of the exhibit, and a commitment on the part of the artists should his/her artwork be sold to donate 30% of the sale to the Art Gallery of Fells Point,  Donations are tax deductible.

Shipped Artwork should be in a sturdy corrugated box and protected with bubble wrap or rigid foam sheet.  Please do not use peanuts or wood crates.    Please include a self-addressed return label.

All reasonable care will be exercised in handling the artwork submitted.  The Art Gallery of Fells Point will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work submitted.  Sending a work of art to this exhibition implies an agreement on the part of the artist with the conditions set forth in this prospectus.

JUDGE: Dolores M. Andrew

Dolores is an artist and designer who creates work in a variety of media in both the fine art, and the needleart disciplines.  She holds a BFA in painting from Syracuse University and an MFA in Art Education from Maryland Institute College of Art.  She is represented in several galleries, and her work has been accepted in juried shows throughout the United States, with both large works and dminiatures.  She is retired as an Associate Professor of Art from Essex Community College in Baltimore County, MD  She is a Charter, as well as a Signature Member of the Maryland Pastel Society.  In the summer, Dolores lives in Rehoboth Beach, where she has been on the summer faculty of the Rehoboth Art League for over 30 years.  She chaired the RAL Outdoor Show for 16 years, and illustrated the Cottage Tour Catalog for 20 years.

Dolores is a certified Master Teacher from the National Academy of Needlearts, and has completed their Honors program.  She is also a NAN Certified Master Judge, and received their Lifetime Achievement Award in 205.  She is currently the Mentor of the Master Judging Certification for NAN>  She has written and illustrated three books on textile subjects, all published by Stemmer House Publisher.
